U.S. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming has recently put forward the Responsible Innovation and Safe Expertise Act of 2025 (RISE). This groundbreaking legislation is the first of its kind, offering a conditional liability shield for AI developers whilst also demanding transparency with regards to model training and specifications. This legislation isn’t set in stone yet. It still has to travel through a demanding legislative process including majority acceptance by both the U.S. Senate and House, and the President’s approval
