Litehaus: The Uber of Construction Wins Pre-seed Funding to Transform Home-building

Published: 28 May 2025
In response to a broken home-building system, Thibault Launay and Simi launched Litehaus to efficiently connect landowners and property developers with construction professionals.

When Thibault Launay and Simi decided to build their dream home in Portugal, they expected the journey to be daunting yet rewarding. What they faced was a system marred by delays, budget overruns, and the stress of managing a legion of subcontractors. They purchased land in late 2020 and embarked on their construction journey in early 2022, a journey they hoped would conclude in 2024. However, as of 2025, they are still waiting for their dream to materialise. Their first-hand encounter with this broken system led them to an epiphany - they were not alone in their struggles, and there was a pressing need for an efficient and cost-effective approach to construction.

To gain a competitive edge and address sustainability concerns, Thibault and Simi have chosen modular construction as Litehaus’s go-to strategy. By leveraging this method, Litehaus offers a 40% quicker, 30% cheaper, and 60% more sustainable construction process - an approach that translates to 90% less waste and 50% less CO2 emissions compared to conventional methods. The company has already attracted the attention of investors, raising a substantial pre-seed fund to accelerate its mission to revolutionise home-building.

Litehaus shares the modular construction space with other global players like Ginosko Modular, Flummerfelt, and Schnelle Prefabs. However, with its unique blend of technology and method, Litehaus aspires to make a significant difference in the way homes are built, not just in the US and Europe, but across the globe.
