Amazon Web Services Introduces Bedrock AgentCore: A Game-Changer in the World of Enterprise AI Agents

Published: 16 Jul 2025
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is stepping up its AI game with the newly unveiled Bedrock AgentCore, a platform designed to build, deploy, and operate enterprise AI agents at scale.

The future of enterprise work and information interaction, according to Amazon Web Services (AWS), will be steered by AI agents. To pave the way for this transformation, AWS has introduced a ground-breaking enterprise-grade platform, Bedrock AgentCore, shifting the AI landscape once again.

Launched at the New York Summit, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is an all-in-one platform enhancing AI application development, from inception to deployment, securely and at scale. During the keynote, Swami Sivasubramanian, AWS’s VP of Agentic AI, emphasised how AgentCore propels organizations from mere experimentation to rolling out trustworthy agent systems capable of controlling even the most business-critical processes.

AgentCore is constructed as a modular stack of services, packing in everything needed by developers to successfully transition AI agents from prototypes to fully operational units, such as runtime, memory, identity, observability, and native tools for web browsing and code execution.

What makes it even more appealing is its compatibility with popular open-source toolkits such as CrewAI, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and LangGraph, even AWS’s native Strands Agents SDK.

The AgentCore platform also includes important features like session isolation, memory services, OAuth-based identity and access management, built-in dashboards, debugging, telemetry tools, and a secure environment for code execution. The platform also provides seamless integration with the AWS Marketplace, simplifying the process for teams to uncover and deploy pre-built agents and tools.

In line with enhancing interoperability, AgentCore accommodates industry emerging standards such as Google’s A2A protocol and the MCP. With the introduction of Bedrock AgentCore, AWS has made a decisive move, bolstering its position within an increasingly competitive enterprise AI sector, which is witnessing similar patient development platforms from OpenAI and Google, among others.

This progressive development adds another feather to AWS’s cap, signifying another major step forward in the evolving world of AI and autonomous software agents. As competition within the enterprise AI industry intensifies, Bedrock AgentCore couldn’t have arrived at a better time, paving the way for the next chapter of AI deployment within the enterprise.
